Prior to setting up as an independent Creative Education consultant, I was a primary teacher for 26 years. During this time I was subject leader for Music,
Art and Display (amongst other subjects) and held a promoted post for Creativity.
I have led in-service training in all these areas, and was a group leader during the Islands of the Imagination initiative at the Wales Millennium Centre. I have collaborated with Cardiff’s C.A.S.T. (Creative Arts Support Team) and with the artist Nigel Meager, developing projects ideas as seen in his book “Creativity and Culture: Art Projects for Primary Schools”. I am a trained pianist (Grade 8) and have a Diploma in Music Education from Gwent College of Education. I have been responsible for adapting, rehearsing and directing over 20 school musical productions. During my career I have spent periods as both acting head and acting deputy head but my passion lies with the Creative Arts and developing creativity in children.
In 2008 I was a nominee of the Teaching Awards Trust.

At 17 I moved to Paris, but returned to study B.A.(Hons) France
Contemporaine at Portsmouth Polytechnic. During study time in France,
I worked part time and took art classes at Schiller College, Strasbourg.
I returned to Cardiff for my P.G.C.E., took up a teaching post and
decided to stay.
In the mid 80s, due to my involvement as co-founder of the
Meltdown, (www.cardiffmeltdown.com) I performed regularly
in Wales and England as a singer/song writer, am featured on the
classic collector’s item - The Meltdown Album - performing
“Nancy Steele is Missing”, reviewed by Sounds Magazine as
“Full of love and hate, and brilliant”. More recently, I have
performed jazz standards in collaboration with pianist Steve
Karavasili, with whom I performed probably my best known
song “Someone’s Crying in Japan” at the Meltdown/No Fit
State Circus 20th Birthday Party.
