I have long believed that the Creative Arts are an essential part of any child’s education. Children naturally sing, dance, draw, make-believe. Nurturing these instinctive ways of exploring and expressing and integrating them across the curriculum is the best way forward in teaching and learning. In order to prepare our children for a future we cannot even imagine we must encourage their creativity, encourage their imaginations, encourage them to find their own ways of understanding the world. The introduction of the Foundation Phase in Wales indicates how much significance is afforded to this approach to learning but the needs of all children should be addressed and provided for right now.
My mission is to help teachers and children
